Do you ever get that little twist in your stomach knowing you have to go in
to work tomorrow?
How many meetings have you sat through, where the only real thing accomplished was the
scheduling of another meeting?
We've been there.
I serve as President for BestDayHR, where I have the honor of helping organizations solve their toughest people problems while helping them find opportunities for fuelling their sparks and having their BestDays. Prior to BestDayHR, I was the Director of Human Resources for the City of Boise, where I led a department responsible for recruiting and hiring, payroll, risk management, security, employee relations and organizational development. I hold a Master of Science degree in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning and have two children, a mis-marked lab and was lucky enough to marry the boy who lived next door.
I have been fortunate to serve as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Washington School District, City of Boise, Boise State University, and a 1,000 person fast growth private company.
Prior to these roles, I practiced employment, school, and labor law in three states.
I have overseen all people operations from recruiting, traditional labor and employee relations, organizational development, payroll, benefits, and risk management.
My positions have given me the opportunity to do everything from helping build workplace culture to conducting workplace investigations in all of the settings where I have worked for the past twenty years.
Through the years I have received training from talented subject matter experts, including Title IX investigator training from ATIXA and other sources.
When it is all said and done, my favorite titles though are husband, father, and, well, beekeeper.
I started my career as a Software Developer for the City of Boise. With a newly earned Computer Science degree from Boise State University,
I fully expected that the government job would be a momentary pit stop. Working alongside friends and colleagues I gained valuable insights into the 'Art' of Computer Science,
a beautiful mosaic of technical bits that solve business problems.
I lead a small and courageous team in web application development, software development, system integrations, process automation, data warehousing and data analysis.
After 15 years, I embarked on this grand new adventure, BestDayHR.
I’ve spent quite a few years within the halls of corporate America and, long ago, came to realize that the best,
most enjoyable, would-do-it-all-the-same-again, favorite part about my experience has been the people–I’ve been taught by, grown together with and worked alongside
SO many great people across the country!
My favorites have been those that, like me, enjoy tackling puzzles, striving for win-wins, being active and outdoors, exploring new frontiers, and putting smiles on the faces of loved ones …life is good!
To this end, I am passionate about creating and providing products and services for people (especially ones that they’ve been searching for) and then doing my best to help ensure they can make a difference.
Let’s do it!
We create HR tools that come from our experience working with organizations in many different industries. Heck, we have the scars to prove it.
Within us all is the desire to create. For us, we are dogged in creating software that is super functional, fairly priced, fun to use, and dare we say, beautiful to look at.
We like the same things you do - transparent pricing, no hidden fees, no pesky sales calls, tools that work as promised, and hugs from our Moms.
Without you we would not exist. We respect your trust and work to exceed your expectations by paying attention to the big and little things.
